Hi
I am running the public release of Vista Beta2 and I am having problems playing music using WMP11 and, after looking through the questions in this newsgroup, I can see that other users are having similar/same problems.
After installing and activating Vista Beta 2, I updated via Windows Update and there were around 9 updates one of which was for my SoundMAX integrated soundcard on my MSI board. After updating and rebooting the computer, I went to my MP3 folder and clicked on a MP3 file, WMP11 was launched and showed that the MP2 was playing but there was no sound and the radio button at the bottom left which moves from left to right as the music is playing, was not moving. I then clicked on a default music file that comes with MP11 and that also had no sound.
I then inserted a music CD in my drive and again MP11 opened and all the info was shown and it looked like the CD was playing, but there was no sound.
I launched Media Center and was able to play the default music, my MP3's and CD's, so I reckon the problem lies with MP11 and I have logged this as a fault with Microsoft.
If anyone has any suggestions about how to get MP11 working with my music/Cd's, please feel free to respond.
Regards
Dave
